High-Efficiency Power Plant in Mali implements SERTICA Maintenance
Burmeister & Wain Scandinavian Contractor A/S (BWSC), a global turnkey developer, contractor and operator of tailored, medium to large-scale power plants, signs agreement with Logimatic to deliver SERTICA Maintenance to High-Efficiency Power Plant in Mali.
The vision at BWSC is to develop energy efficient power plants and ensuring balance between low environmental impact and low cost of ownership for the power plants owners. In 2017, the company was awarded a EUR 90 million contract to build a high-efficiency power plant, which will increase the power capacity in Mali by 25 percent. The power plant will be located in the city of Kayes in Western Mali and will have a gross capacity of 90 MW. The project and the improved infrastructure as a result hereof is expected to have a positive impact on employment, growth and development in Mali.
BWSC uses SERTICA to monitor and plan maintenance work done on-site. Erik Hartmann, Project Manager, Operation & Maintenance at BWSC says, “We plan to use SERTICA for daily maintenance on the plant, which has 8-10.000 components registered. We can create maintenance jobs for all components and thereby ensure optimal maintenance, including systematic planning. We aim to reduce breakdowns, have less spare parts on stock and thereby achieve budget savings.”
The High-Efficiency Power Plant in Mali is expected to be operational in November 2018, 16 months after effective contract.
